Nuffield Award Ceremony

We were pleased to yet again have helped a young person on the road to an engineering career. Using our GoForth robotics kit Felix Barker constructed a robotic paper folder. Although not visually a robot it nevertheless used the robotics principles of design, mechanics, electronics and software.

The award ceremony was on 8th November at the Mary Allen building, University of Cambridge. Pictures is Geena Chacko, ST Robotics applications engineer and STEM ambassador with Felix Barker.

We won Stemnet award

2012 Mercer Science and Engineering Fair

Mathew Monforte, VP ST Robotics, Princeton, was pleased to be invited to judge entries at the annual Mercer county Science and Engineering fair. There was a considerable number of mini-booths created by the students. See http://mercersec.org/

6th axis

The 6th axis is officially a product! I have finally managed to remove the "available October 2011" etc. promises from the website. Having perfected the mechanics, the electronics (after a few fires), the software (not trivial) and finally the manuals (also not trivial) we made a video - see our youtube video

CREST awards

The CREST awards ceremony was held at Marshalls Airport on 8th November. Background: Aiden Crilly worked with us on the schools project during the summer. Aiden had his poster there and a summary of his work. Engineering Festival, Duxford

ST Robotics successfully engaged groups of students at the Engineering Festival near Cambridge.

The GoForth robotics kits were a huge success. Teams of students took turns to build robot arms and a robotic dancer. Many schools have requested kits for the new term. We will be starting a new robotics league based on the kits. For more information go to http://forth-robotics.org.




We also had an R12 robot there which drew a lot of interest and students were fascinated by the ease of programming a real industrial robot.
